FOIL STAMPING DIES |
Transfer foils are very versatile, whether applied individually, or in conjunction with printing and/or embossing. Foil can be bright or satin, smooth or textured, metallic, tinted or pearlized, transparent or opaque, inked over, patterned or micro-embossed, and are available in numerous colors. They can be transferred to any number of substrates and in some cases a product is identified by a particular foil color. Foils are commonly used to add security to documents. In addition to the usual applications to paper or carton products, transfer foils are applied to leather, credit cards, car parts, appliances, electronic devices, housewares and pens, to name a few.
FLAT STAMPING
Flat stamping dies are etched by a process of photo engraving. We use an all digital pre-press workflow to and create high resolution images on film using thermal imaging. This allows transferring a variety of different types of artwork from textures, and line art to half-tones and photographs and turn them into foil stamped images.
TEXTURED FOILING
The etched copper dies are commonly used for flat stamping or single level embossing or debossing. When transferring foil to a smooth or coated stock copper dies can reproduce extremely fine detail such as micro-embossing or special effects, patterns or holograms. They are priced by the square inch of the image area, plus any additional metal needed for mounting purposes and/or additional etching due to the die having more than one level or texturing.
FOIL EMBOSSING
Foiling and embossing can be done in one press run with foil-embossing dies. If the area that embosses also receives foil in exactly the same image, one run (foil embossing) can be done, as well as having the option of simultaneously flat stamping other areas with the same die.
